Overview
MacFreeup is a Mac cleaner and storage optimization application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data We Collect
Data Processed Locally
MacFreeup scans your Mac for system caches, junk files, application logs, and large files. All scanning and cleanup operations happen entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store any of your files, file names, or file contents on our servers.
Analytics Data
Our website uses privacy-focused analytics (Plausible Analytics) to understand visitor trends. This collects no personal data, uses no cookies, and complies with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal files, documents, photos, or videos
- Browsing history or passwords
- System file contents
- Any data that leaves your Mac
Third-Party Services
MacFreeup does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, ad networks, or data brokers.
macOS Permissions
MacFreeup may request disk access permissions to scan system caches and application data. These permissions are used exclusively for local cleanup operations and are never used to access personal documents without your explicit selection.
Data Security
Because MacFreeup processes all data locally on your Mac, there is no risk of server-side data breaches. The app is notarized by Apple, ensuring it meets macOS security requirements.
